New FCH JU project was launched - HYCARUS

The HYCARUS project, HYdrogen Cells for AiRborne USage, partly financed by the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking initiative, has officially started on 1st May, 2013.

The project aims to design and test a generic fuel cell system to be used in non-essential aircraft applications such as galleys, lavatory or crew rest compartment in a large commercial aircraft, or secondary power source on-board a business jet for applications like an Auxiliary Power Unit.

HYCARUS gathers expertise of 9 partners from 5 European countries who now collaborate  to develop and integrate an emission free, environmentally and economically friendly fuel cell system for airborne usage. Jointly with the Project coordinator, Zodiac Aerospace, ARTTIC is in charge of the management and dissemination activities within the project.

The Kick-off meeting was held from 14th to 16th May 2013 in Hamburg, where the official logo was presented.
